Havana Station

I am Ariel Cruzata.

Cuban immigrant who arrived nine years ago in this beautiful City of Roses in Portland, Oregon, born and raised in Havana, Cuba, in the Cerro neighborhood.
I had a great dream when I left my island to show the world exquisite and delicious 100% authentic Cuban food, made with natural and fresh ingredients from my Cuban kitchen.
My great-aunt Luisa, 92 years old today and currently living in Miami, taught me this great treasure of flavor over many years.
My dream has a name today and it is a small family business called Havana Station.

Famous Cuban Ropa Vieja

Ropa vieja is the national dish of Cuba. It’s somewhat amusing as it can be difficult to find beef in Cuba, as much of it goes to the resorts and tourist restaurants.

Ropa Vieja means old clothes but this popular food in Cuba is a stew with beef chunks slowly cooked till they shred, together with tomatoes and onions.
